  synlige signaler pÃ¥ lang afstand? Kig her :-)

Til fri download har de en signalrettelsesfil som gør dine signaler synlige på lang i en afstand. Ligesom i den virkelige verden Grin

Virker på de fleste ruter. Dog ikke Protrain 2 og 3. Virker ialtfald på NDK, Denmark, German Railroads 2 og alle mapleleafs ruter hvor jeg indtil videre har installeret dem.

Man skal kunne finde ud af at gå ind i sigcfg.dat filen i den rute man vil bruge det på, og rette radius-værdier. Skal tilsyneladende ganges med ca. 8.33... så det skal man kunne finde ud af.

Den har dog en uheldig sideeffekt på udvalgte objekter der står bag signallyset. Der kommer et firkantet hul i objektet. Kan man leve med det er det en fantastisk rettelse man her får foræret.

især i mørkekørsel, hvor man IKKE lægger mærke til den beskrevne sideeffekt er der en FÆNOMENAL gevinst ved at inoperere denne signalfil.

PRØV DET.

Men da filen ikke må videre-distribueres, jævnfør deres readme-fil, så kan jeg ikke indbygge dem i signal-pakken.

Men man kan altid henvise til den. Wupper Express havde lavet noget lignende, men slet ikke nær så godt. Ville dog ønske man kunne fjerne den sideeffekt det giver på bagvedliggende objekter... Det kan man nok ikke. aner det ikke.

Hej Jesper. Det afhænger lidt af hvilken rute du tænker på.

Fortæl mig hvilken specifik rute du mener, så kigger jeg lige Smile . Det er nemlig ikke nødvendigvis alle radius-felter der skal/kan ændres. Det afhænger også af hvordan 'signal-designeren' har lavet sine signaler...

Ikke endnu, men jeg har gennemskuet fidusen Wink
Det er lidt for varmt til at jeg vil bruge alt for meget tid her bag computeren, værelset ligger i vest, så selv med nedrullede gardiner bliver her hurtigt, for varmt ...

Jeg synes det var 'nemmere' at kopiere min sigcfg.dat fra min NDK som den ser ud med filen indbygget. Husk at den udpakkede ace-fil fra mapleleaftracks.com: "SigLight.ace" skal omdøbes og erstatte "siglight1.ace" i NDK/textures.

Jeg prøvede også dette trick på NDK og har lige et yderligere tip til i hvertfald NDK ruten mht. denne forbedring af signallyset. På NDK ruten bruger vi jo Stigs nyeste version af signalerne hvor der også er LODS på selve shape filerne. Dvs. at de bliver mere detaljerede jo tættere man kommer på hvilket også forbedrer frameraten.

Da Stig lavede signalerne kan jeg se at han satte den sidste LOD til at være ca. 800-1000 meter, hvilket er naturligt nok idet signalerne jo alligevel ikke var synlige på længere afstand. Men med dette nye "trick" kan man se signalerne helt op til 2000 meter væk som vist er spillets maksimumafstand for objekter.

Det kræver så "bare" at man konvertere shape filerne for signalerne så de ikke er pakkede og retter den sidste LOD's afstand til f.eks. 2000 meter. Jeg har kun gjort dette med udvagte signaler indtil videre, som f.eks. AM signaler og I signaler og U. PU har jeg sat til 1000 meter da det sjældent er nødvendigt med mere. På denne måde kan man således få optimal synlighed især om natten. Det er lidt tidskrævende men absolut arbejdet værd. Smile
Det har selvfølgelig en sideeffekt i form af en måske lidt laver framerate, men jeg kan se i programmen "shape file manager" at den sidste LOD ikke er så detaljeret så måske gør det ikke den store forskel alligevel.

På Denmark ruten og nogle af de andre danske ruter er det den lidt ældre version af signalerne der benyttes, som ikke har LODs såvidt jeg lige kan se, så der er det ikke nødvendigt.

Man kan bruge "shape file manager" til at pakke shape filerne op og ændre LOD afstanden med, så det er ikke så svært.

Jeg vil så lade Stig afgøre om han på et tidspunkt vil udgive en ny version af signalerne med denne rettelse, men selvfølgelig uden selve sigview filen som ikke må videredistribueres. Ellers er det som sagt rimeligt nemt at rette selv, der er bare rigtigt mange signaler at holde styr på. Wink

Nu har jeg så ligget og rodet med sahpefile manager og ændret alle signalers LOD til 2000.

Nu er det virkelig bare perfekt Grin Smile Shock

Der skal trivielt arbejde til. Men sikken gevinst!

Det kan jeg kun bekræfte, og det er kun selve signal-pladen som jo er den mest synlig del på banen, men hvis der virkelig kommer en synlighed på lamperne på 2000 meter, så kan det jo godt være jeg vil kikke på det.
I virkeligheden mener jeg at synligheden er omkring de 1000-1500 meter hvad angår lyset.

Det er også de færreste steder på ruten at man alligevel kan se signalerne 2 km væk, pga træer og sving osv. Men 1, 5 km er også rigeligt til at kunne køre ruten uden track monitor, som er det jeg gerne vil kunne gøre.

Og LOD betyder ganske rigtigt level of detail. Wink
Shape file manager kan i hvertfald hentes på train-sim.com, måske andre steder også.

Hej Venner

Jeg arbejder på en patch til signalpakke ver 4.0, således at man ikke skal rode i nogen af de besværlige filer.
Patch'en giver en synlighed på 1500 meter, samtidig kan man efterfølgende installere rettelsen fra mapleleaftrack direkte.
Patch'en vil også kunne installeres i NDK 4.0 direkte.
